Contributing Knowledge

 

I added to the conversation by noticing what others missed. I was able to see that scholars have analyzed Guernica's symbols (Morente y Martín), its history (Afinoguénova), and its public relations function (Xifra and Heath), but no source asked ordinary viewers what they feel. Among my sources, only one (Young et al.) even mentions "emotional power," and they state it as fact without evidence. My survey is my contribution as it proposes to collect exactly the data that is missing. Even the image of Guernica contributes by being publicly accessible. Anyone can look at it and ask, "Do I feel what the scholars say I should feel?" That question is the starting point of my contributing knowledge.
