Multiple Ways of Writing

My portfolio uses multiple modes because art is visual, and its emotional impact is best shown, not just described. The image of Guernica itself is one of my artifacts. This goes in conjunction with my survey as they require an image to review along with it. My annotated bibliography is written text, but it serves a different purpose: organizing complex scholarly arguments into readable summaries, which reflects multiliteracies. My survey connects written and interactive modes; it is a tool, not a paper, and its Likert scales and open-ended questions let future viewers respond in their own words. My works cited page is the most traditional academic genre I have, but its alphabetical list of authors from multiple countries visually demonstrates the international conversation I entered. My source, The Allegory of the Second Spanish Republic in Picasso's Guernica by Morente and Martin was actually written in Spanish however I had it translated through Microsoft Word. I felt that this was a great opportunity in extracting information and by diversifying the epistemic and geographic origins of my research.
